And once again bringing a quick review of another ghost girl, here is nendo Yuyuko! Courtesy of GreatToysOnline and, of course, some smooth talking by Onii-chan XD
As a full size nendo, the details are of course neat, the colors are as lovely as always I must say; the frilly parts were nicely done as well for something so puny XD An eye catcher from Yuyuko would be the petals on her outfit, and these are done in a really good paint job. While Yuyuko does have legs, due to the long skirt she’s wearing, it’s almost unnoticeable most of the time unless you decide to pose her in a flying manner.
For face plates, aside from the default one in the image above, she comes with a very serious face and as seen on the main picture, a smiling face which does have its own charms despite being another smiling face. (Remember when I used it back on Airi?) XD
As for accessories, of course, as all nendos do, she has her base and as you can see above it has its own design which is also true for all Touhou Nendoroids. Additionally, Yuyuko comes with two wisps and paired butterflies which have a base of their own that comes in two pieces since the other can plug have two plugged in, , and two more separate butterflies. While there are fans above, they’re already attached to Yuyuko’s hand and are two different hand pieces; this along with a left palm with a peg hole are Yuyuko’s only alternate hands; she does have extra shoulders so you can have the arms in a protruding manner.
Yuyuko’s play value alone is pretty much just average and my one real gripe is that unless you have her in a flying pose, you can’t really have her face upwards since the stand’s arm gets in the way of her hair, giving it Yuyuko’s bad factor; but with her wisps and butterflies and their many ways of combination for display, Yuyuko’s play value becomes more than just average and I must say it was a fun shoot overall. XD
One more thing to note but I ultimately failed to shoot since my camera can’t handle it is that her wisps are glow in the dark! 8D Something that took me by a surprise when I placed her in the cab after the shoot.
Anyway, as a collector who’s easily contented, I’m pretty much happy with the purchase of Yuyuko and being my first nendo Touhou, I guess she’s good enough though I seriously doubt she’s the best one from the line. But if you are into nendos, then she’s a pretty good deal especially if you have Youmu as well (which I unfortunately do not have at the moment).
