Kotobukiya’s Black Magician Girl Makes You Remember Your Guilty Childhood Pleasures

Usually unspectacular Kotobukiya just announced pre-orders for the re-release of their spectacularly splendid Black (or Dark depending which side of the globe you’re in) Magician Girl from Egyptian card-slapping anime, “Yu-Gi-Oh!” Originally released last March, this sultry spell-wielder has drawn raves for both its nostalgia-inducing capabilities (who would’ve thought a “Yu-Gi-Oh!” figure to be made after all this time?) and more than acceptable sculpt and build quality (heck, she goes for 5 digits on Mandarake now). Black Magician Girl also comes with two face plates, a poster and a Kuriboh key chain so you can proudly brag to your buddies that you were once that kid in the sandbox shouting embarrassingly geeky monster names enough to make anyone cringe. Your second chance at this blonde belle will be on January 2012 for a reasonably priced 6800 yen.

  2. hmmm… I would have liked for an alternate color scheme or optional removable parts.. but it is a damn fine figure already… just wished there would have been a reason for me to buy a 2. one from the re release…
