It’s been a while since I actually last posted and when I actually held a figure shoot. So, today, I am back for another
not so quick review and this time we go to the land of stupid bundles with figma Insane Black Rock Shooter!
Well, first thing’s first, I.BRS does come with with her Insane Cannon Lance and Insane Blade Claw as she should be. Both weapons have an amazing weathering with them and even her armor parts that flows in her outfit receives decent share of the said effect.
Her details as a whole sure closes the deal, a lot of areas where you would a limit on the joints would appear have been dealt with by applying flexible plastic as the details and overall the quality doesn’t feel cheap.
Now, though as good as the details might get, the figma IBRS isn’t perfect as every figma are. One of the things I feel is lacking was the faceplate, the default face isn’t that fantastic IMO but the serious face is definitely lovely and really IBRS accurate. Aside from this nitpick flaw, I am disappointed at how they made the flame eye. The flame eye isn’t like the previous BRS releases which was a molded hairpiece, this one is, well, you just clip it; the major issue is that when the flame eye loosens, there’s a big chance that the flame eye will be lost.
But, of course, she has more good sides than bad ones, one thing is that the Insane Cannon Lance has a new stand, it’s shorter than our regular figma stands and instead of having a clamp like the first BRS’s, this one pegs directly to the weapon, and even though the Lance Cannon is chained to her back you can actually remove and reattach it so you can adjust it if it is somehow limiting your desired pose.
You can definitely pose her around with the Lance Cannon but like many of the earlier BRS figmas, it does have some weight problems, but do note, she can hold it upwards just fine. And also, the hands lock in place much better this time as they aren’t sliding out due to the heavy weapon (like BGS’s). Articulation is pretty much free not much limited movements have been implied for her, so, posing her around was definitely fun yet challenging at times, but still overall a pretty great figma.
While the figma is indeed very good in details and articulation; I can’t say the same for the price, we all know (and if you don’t…) that she is bundled with the DVD/BD box of the whole series which makes her insanely expensive (do note, my gf hates this figma for the price) , so… if you can find her at a low price (she has her own figma box BTW) without the DVD/BD set, then good for you, get it in a heartbeat if you love the BRS series. But as someone like me who’s gotten the set, well, no matter how great the figma is, the price just doesn’t cut it for me in the end (so I’m selling my DVD box LOL) But from a figure’s point alone, she really is a good figma overall.
