Hi everyone, iLikeLolis here reporting for duty again! I know my username is iLikeLolis and you might think “Hey I thought you were into lolis since your username says so!”. Yeah I thought so too, but there are some exceptions. It maybe the pose is good, I know the character and I like her and other factors which you already know. For those who don’t know Sonico, she is the official mascot of Nitroplus.
Good Smile Company has been on a rampage releasing new figures based on popular series and this is evident in their latest announcements for their highly profitable Nendoroid and figma product lines. With the anime “Guilty Crown” having just ended, GSC and Max Factory have catered to the request of fans to release figures of the ever popular vocalist of EGOIST and main heroine, Yuzuriha Inori. When we have anime figure displays, we’re usually given at least a month to prepare for the event. Why a month? Well, consider that not only do we have to invite lenders and record their figures to be displayed in the event, but we also have to layout the name tags for the figures and have further discussions with the organizers with regards to the floor space we have to work with. I think this is why our latest stint at TAGCOM 6 at Robinson’s Place Manila last March 31 to April 1 has got to be one of our most impressive showings yet. It may not have been as grandiose as our previous displays but given the extremely rushed preparation time we had, we’re quite proud of the showcase we had. Continue reading →
After more than a month of waiting, drooling fangirls *ahem* can now feast their eyes on the latest update from the Kotobukiya x Nitro+ joint project as they’ve announced the most awaited male figures of 2012, lovely couple Shiki and Akira from the infamous BL game Togainu no Chi. You may want to check out the rest of the entry so you can view the other photos and info about the release, or simply stay on the front page so you can stare at Akira’s buttcrack over there. Your call, fangirl! Continue reading →
If you were to ask me, Sonico would probably be the ecchi equivalent of the twin-tailed virtual diva, Hatsune Miku. Both sport headphones, are musically inclined and insanely popular among their established fan bases. Now, chalk up another similarity to both of them as Good Smile Company is now lending their sculpting prowess to the sultry Sonico, as she joins GSC’s ranks of timeless characters turned into PVC figures. Nitroplus’ sultry mascot, Sonico, has gotten quite the press lately, mostly due to the waves of figure releases of hers’ being announced. Gift continues the assault as they’ve announced a 1/6 figure that’s sure to contend for the ecchi-est Sonico crown. Continue reading →
Nitroplus’ busty moe idol, Sonico, has gotten quite a lot of figures recently despite her lack of exposure among the masses, owing her popularity more to her attractive character design and musical prowess more than anything. Orchid Seed’s Bondage Ver., in my opinion, is her unquestioned best figure as of the moment (as proven by the ridiculous secondary prices she now commands) and luckily, those who weren’t able to get her the first time around have a second life as the said manufacturer will be releasing her again, this time in a fresh candy pink color. Another great weekend, another awesome convention to remember by. The Best of Anime 2011 was by no means a convention of the highest caliber, by normal standards, however, the figure display that Team Onii-chan! put together was once again the source of our joy and pride. I guess its a testament to the wonderful company that these guys are that makes every display a fulfilling and worthwhile event. Anyways, I wouldn’t remember The Best of Anime 2011 as an outstanding convention but more for the overwhelming fun factor involved. Here’s some pics from day 2.
Following the footsteps of highly popular “scientific adventure games,” “Chaos;HEAd” and “Steins;Gate,” Nitroplus and 5pb. are teaming up once again to deliver another highly anticipated release entitled, “Robotics;Notes.” Details are still quite scarce but based on the preview video, augmented reality may play a part in the plot. The game will be available for both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles next spring 2012. While “Robotics;Notes” looks to be promising for now, one can only hope if the game will feature a cast of characters equally demented and outrageous as the wildly popular “Steins;Gate.”
Mad scientist Hououin Kyouma will once again be making a time leap, this time on the big screen. The much-unexpected news was announced after the showing of the final episode of the immensely popular TV series. Continue reading →
A new Super Sonico figure has been announced to be manufactured by a very, very unexpected company.
While there’s nothing actually surprising about yet another Sonico figure given that this busty entity is currently trending as one of the most milked (pun not intended) upon character by figure companies, what prompted me to put on a WTF stance is the company, Dive, who will manufacture the figure. You see, Dive is notorious for releasing figures of manly GANGSTER characters (except maybe Professor Layton) from different gangster-themed series as seen in this link.
Need I say more? Page after page of Dive’s figure release database will show you a pool of GANGSTERS (yep, I have to really emphasize that word) and adding Sonico to the equation is like throwing a handsome virgin lad in a den of hungry gay lions. Of course, you might see it as Sonico having her own huge harem of GANGSTERS, but that’s really off character.
No price, scale and release date has been set for this figure but I will surely be anticipating for a preview of this one. GANGSTER Sonico may not really be far off, lulz.
